  • 8 out of 10

    By Jimmywjr
The first 8 episodes were very interesting in dealing with the French involvement, the US being bogged down in Vietnam. Episode 9 started off becoming a bit too preaching for me and stopped watching it when they trotted out John Kerry.
  • Breathtaking Documentary

    By JustpeachynDC
After watching all ten episodes I must say that this documentary took extremely complicated diverse issues and made them into a tangible, thoughtfully produced piece. Not only is this body of work powerful, intriguing and honest, it painstakingly places these incredibly complex events in a comprehensive chronological manner with views from all sides. It truly is a work of art. A masterpiece. It grips you and lingers in your mind long after you’ve watched its final minutes fade into credits.
  • My Daddy’s War as Seabee and Mine

    By OUtown
My dad had three tours in Vietnam as a Seabee who got the areas ready for the marines to arrive. After watching this wonderful series I too relived those years but daddy was forever changed as was the millions of other brave men and women. Those years changed me as well God bless all because a lot of the men and women will pass away with more insight and true stories that they rather bury with them then share
  • Incredible.

Disturbing to watch. The final episode is a wonderful effort to heal.

Halfway through it it is just absolutely phenomenal in content , quality and balance. amazing detail and video footage is never seen before plus clarity about why things happen the way they did and didn’t.
  • Thank you!

Riveting and thought provoking. The music coincided perfectly with the era. I am deeply grateful for those that served and was drawn to tears several times through the program. I feel a deeper connection to that generation now.
  • A Veteran's View of The Vietnam War by Burns and Novick

    By Sgt. Michael
I'm an RVN vet . . . served with the 1st Infantry Division as a combat photographer. I watched the entire series and believe Ken Burns and Lynn Novice got it right. They seemed to concentrate on the experiences of ordinary people both at home and in Vietnam lending acredibility to the raw emotions that accompanied those events. It was more of a human story rather than a pictorial textbook. They compensated things they couldn't get, the smells, the heat, the fear, the rage, the joy, the sadness by allowing those people to tell their stories. The last episode revealed the emotions of those who fought and those who protested quite well and both the initiated and the uninitiated alike a look at the still-present anger and guilt. Paul McCartney's "Let It Be" was a fitting end.
  • Amazing.

Another amazing series from Ken Burns. Do yourself a favor and watch every moment. Sad but sobering history of our nation.

Every so called DREAMER, LEFT WINGER, and LIBERAL should watch this series. Its a profound look into the Vietnam era. It portays what our young patriotic men and women sacrificed willingly or unwillingly to protect the rignts we have today, which are being plucked away one bit at a time. An outstanding heart wrenching series! BY THE WAY CODERED1980 all 10 episodes are available on the PBSS app!
